Myron Matwichuk passed away suddenly on April 19, 2014 from a heart attack. At the age of 61 he was preparing for retirement. His premature death was untimely to family and friends. Beloved husband of Danga, loving son of Marion Peterson and the late Raymond Matwichuk, brother of Kathy and the late Randy. Also surviving are his son Mike and daughter Meghann, his stepdaughters Raminta and Egle, and grandchildren Adrian, Emerey and Matas. Myron was born and educated in Chicago. He was a member of Local 272 for 42 years. He worked at Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters Apprentice and Training Program as an instructor and also as an assistant coordinator. He cared about his students and shared his experience and knowledge with them. He was dedicated to his students and his work. He was a very compassionate, caring, and loving man. He had a passion for the sport of fishing and became the First Place recipient of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters 9th Annual Bass Tournament Award. Myron will never be forgotten.
